Hi JeffOur Sky+ box broke down, so we just found a local dealer who sold us what wewanted, a straightforward Sky DigiBox with no frills in which to put our FreeSat card. We aren't subscribed to Sky, so don't need to pay for HD or stuff that is completely inaccessible. I am sure you could get hold of arefurbished box from somewhere. It's a wonder Sky aren't flogging them offthemselves?I have never seen the Sky Talker, and obviously wouldn't purchase one now we have the TVonics unit. Like you Damon, I've heard different rumours, but mymotto is that if Sky don't want to make their products accessible, whyshould I subscribe to their services? Same goes with Virgin Media. It's a money-making racket. They tell you that you get "choice". What's choice if you have to take out a stupid package with channels that only broadcast for a few hours per day and have no relevance, just to get the sport or whateverother premium service you are interested in? If it's sport you like, then it's sport you should purchase. If movies are your thing, then you should get films. Why do you have to pay extra money for a pile of junk? Grrr!! (smiles).
