hello richard,
yes there is an IOS app for the british gas smart meters.
we had both gas and electricity smart meters fitted last spring and were very
lucky as up until then there was only a wireless display fitted in your home,
but when the engineers arrived they said to us as of yesterday there is a
newmethod of accessing your readings we can now fit a mini router instead of
a wireless display that will transmit everything to your apple devices and
that if we would prefer to have that they would install that instead although
they admitted we would be their guineapigs.
we had the router installed and there was some minor problems getting it
installed but that was because they had never installed one before.
once up and running it has worked fine apart from one update to the app which
caused everyone to uninstall the app and re-install it again to get things
working again, but from an accessibility prospective it all works nicely with
voiceover.
pete.

I'm trying to ascertain whether there is an iOs app to allow blind people to
obtain readings from gas/electricity meters, and, if so, whether meters
issued by any particular company are more usable than others.
I've been offered a meter from British Gas.
