Hi Caroline.

The Canon Lide range of scanners are excellent portable scanners, they're USB powered and are ideal for netbook use. I use one for both my netbooks and laptops, at home on the desk and while travelling. You can use any OCR program such as Open Book, Kurzweil or a commercial application like Fine Reader which again, I recommend.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Subject: [access-uk] Scanners and Netbooks

Hello,

I'd be interested to know whether anyone is using a portable scanner with a netbook, and if so, which model have you found to be working well? Does a netbook, specifically the Samsung NC10, have enough power through its USB ports to run one of the scanners which doesn't run off the mains.

Thanks,

Caroline.
