Hi Justine,

Like Paddy says, it may just be that your laptop needs to
settle down for a few minutes, and indeed what you say seems
to suggest this.

However turning off OUTGOING e-mail scanning isn't to
ludicrous as it sounds, provided you are confident you have
a clean system.  But either which way, it won't do any harm
to try it out, and it certainly is something recommended by
Norton with such errors.

Hi Jackie and George

I did read those forums that you pointed me to.  I may
suggest to Orange 
that if they don't sort this out, I'll be forced to end my
contract with 
them.  Yes, they have suggested to others turning the E-mail
scanning off in 
the anti-virus programme, but that seems ludicrous to me!
