Mandy, go to the page you want as your home page, then go to the Tools menu,
Options, then alt + C to use the current page. Press Alt + A to apply the
change, then OK.

I am sorting out a friend’s computer and have just installed IE8 she had IE6
and her home page has changed from Google to something I haven’t heard of – I
tried to change back to Google but it didn’t work and I thought I knew how to
do it please will someone remind me how to accomplish this simple little task?
