Hi Julie.

Yep, its possible. You might have to enable pop support in your GMail account. Here's a link to the settings you need to enable followed by instructions pasted below.

Enable pop:

http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=13273

Mail client configuration:

•POP server: pop.gmail.com.
•Port: 995.
•Require SSL: Yes.
•User name: your Gmail email address. •Make sure your user name includes both your Gmail account name and "@gmail.com". If your Gmail account name is "qwertz.qwertz", for example, type "qwertz.qwertz@xxxxxxxxx" as the user name.

•Password: your Gmail password.
•SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com.
•Port: 465.
•Require SSL/STARTTLS: Yes.
•Require SMTP authentication: Yes.
•User name: your Gmail email address.
•Password: your Gmail password.

Hope that helps, let us know how you get on.

Mo.

Is it possible to do this using a braillenote apex? when I go in to the e-mail directory and fill in all the fields required, it seems to want pop3 and smtp settings which I don't know the info for.

I understand this apex won't work with imap accounts, so I wonder if some kind soul could tell me is gmail an actual imap account anyway?

I've only set this account up on an ipod to get i-messages and e-mails as I couldn't use my main e-mail address to do this, and it would be convenient to check that account on my pc or apex. I'm still a little slow using ipod (grin).

Any help or clarification would be very useful.

Thank you.

Best wishes

Julie.
