Hi John the only reason there were jaws offers is that nobody is buying it
as the upgrades are too expensive. they had something similar a few years
ago and can you enlighten me about what item you ware that helps with
mobility as I gave up on humanware's trekker as it crashed about three times
in a month so am looking for something else. Janet

hi david i was going to go but because of the heat and the difficulty with
the trains i gave it a miss sadly. i woder if the nav trace has had it's
updates yet. i would have liked to have seen that device but again coming
down from leeds changing at birmingham and getting to the venue was too much
for me. also, i do find the venues rather noisey and busy and i must admit
for a totally blind persons these days a lot of the stuff seems to be for
people who have some vision which is great for them of course. techie is
moving so very fast now and it's good to see which new devices are coming on
the market. i really wish we had a good android satnav app i have just heard
steve's sight village podcast very interesting about his new device i think
you wear it on your wrist and it helps with mobility.
i have not heard much at all though about the event of course some great
offers with jaws were available.

To start I am deaf/blind, so I am dependent on my wife who is sighted and can drive, but she was not confident enough to be able to drive there. So the other way was by train, but from Herefordshire that is very difficult from here.
In the past we have driven over to my wife sisters in Coventry and got the train from there into Birmingham and then got a taxi to the Sight Village venue.
I suppose the problem is living out here in the wilds of Herefordshire and near to the Welsh boarders.
Well, maybe next year I will be able to manage some how to get to Sight village by staying in a hotel near by.
