Slow Starting PChi go to run and type msconfig, then have a look up at the 
start up page, unchecking things you don't want to start up.
obviously you don't any references to your screen reading software, and you may 
want to have a look what services you are running too.
ok when done, and your system will reboot a dialog box will come up, saying 
that windows is diagnostic mode check this with the space bar, and you won't 
see that again until you go in to msconfig again.
also, check for spyware.
