You may want to know of some useful tools for downloading BBC Radio and TV
programmes.
The first is called 'iPlayer Downloader', it can do both Radio and TV, you
find the programme in BBC iPlayer and then copy and paste the link of the
page. You click download and then you choose where to save the file. Then
your programme starts downloading. You can get it at
http://po-ru.com/projects/iplayer-downloader/
The other is called 'Radio Downloader', it is BBC Radio only, you can get it
at
http://www.nerdoftheherd.com/tools/radiodld/
but it is not as fast as the iPlayer downloader. You click 'Find programme'
and then follow the links to find the programme you want. When you have
selected the programme you want, you click 'Download' . You can set a
location for files, by default it is My Documents - Downloaded Radio.
So, download the first program mentioned above and simply run the executable
file. You are presented with an edit box which asks for the program-id. At
this point, go to the site from which the program is launched and, with
Jaws, do alt d to get the address. Below, is the address I used to download
PM from 2009 07 14, you can paste it in as:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ljpb9
which works ok, or paste only the
b00ljpb9
which is the program-id and works fine.
Jaws users will need to switch to the jaws cursor to click the download
button. The usual save dialogue then comes up and the download procedes
where you specify.
