well of course if you had a Mac then all programs would work equally.you would not be chopping and changing between screen readers as you would simply be using voice over.

Hi Adrian.
I wish I could help, but alas I don't use and haven't used Supernova or Hal 
for years now, so can't comment on System Mechanic's performance with that
assistive product. Oddly enough though, I can't get the program to work at 
all with Window-Eyes, it will simply not read any of the panes in the
application and getting around is next to impossible.  JAWS ihs the only
option if you want to use this program, unless of course you have access to 
sighted assistance.  The beauty though is that once set up, it can be left
alone, in fact unless I need to review the actions it has taken, I rarely
open the program, I just let active care do its thing.

Hi Richard.

When you open the program, you will be presented with the overview screen.
There are two paynes to the program, the one on the left allows you to
navigate the various sections of the suite, whilst the larger Payne shows
you the section in focus at that time.  Use the convenient OCR function in
JAWS to find and click on the overview Payne where you will see a summary of the utilities setup. Active care should be set to standard for most users, 
however you can customise the actions active care will take in the active
care tab in the left hand Payne.  The CPU information is for information
only, it tells you how many threads of your CPU are being used at that time 
by applications, System Mechanic automatically handles memory and cpu
resource allocation, so you don�t need to worry about that too much. In the 
overview tab, check that live boost is set to full boost, this will then
ensure you are getting the most out of the real-time optimisation features
System Mechanic has,
these are configured in the live boost utility, an icon for which should
have been placed on your desktop.

Thanks for this Ibrahim.

I have this prog, but am not sure if I�ve configured it correctly.  Sounds
as though I need to ensure that �Active Care� is running, and I can then
just leave it to get on with it?
I noticed the other day a message saying that 4 out of 8 CPU�s were running, or something to that effect. Is this normal, or should I be investigating, 
I wonder?

I use Iolo System mechanic, an all in one PC fix it and maintenance tool.
You can get it from www.iolo.commm and if you wish, search for reviews on
the program which are all generally very positive.  It has a very
comprehensive set of tools and a patented system called active care which
maintains the computer automatically when it is not being used by performing 
routine housekeeping tasks.  Works well with JAWS if you�re happy to use
convenient OCR and the JAWS cursor.

Asking on behalf of a friend. She is looking for a program to check and fix any registry items in her windows 7 machine. This program needs to be Jaws 
16 accessible if possible.



My friend thinks she has some registry issues, but is not sure what these
