I use a Creative X-Fi Platinum Pro which I have no trouble with at all.
Although the M-Audio cards are quite good as well, or so a musician friend
tells me.

A lower end Creative card will also do you good, although you really only
need the extra X-Fi if you?ve a really keen ear. BTW, the Platinum Pro only
comes with the addition of an external console which is unnecessary unless
you?re going to be connecting other equipment to it.

HTH.

Subject: [access-uk] Soundcard recommendation

Hello all,

Can I have some advice about which soundcard is best suited for all round
use, using with JFW and Vista.

It is the computer I was looking at, and have concluded the on-board sound
is gone; as all drivers are ok and the only sound from the speakers is the
occasional crackle, starting up and shutting down.

All of the boxes are unmuted and volume is turned up etc.

Your suggestions shall be much appreciated, Thanks,

Mike
