Hit windows key and r, then type msconfig and press enter, find the start up
tab, then tab to the list and see what's checked, uncheck anything you don't
want starting up, then tab to ok and press enter.  Restarting might be
required.  Then go to all programmes, windows key then arrow to all programmes,
then to start up submenu and check that there is nothing starting up there that
you don't want.  Remove anything there by highlighting the item and then
hitting the applications key and choosing delete and pressing yes.  Hth.

Back in the days of Win XP  I used to go to Start-up so clear unwanted items
from starting with the logging on. I thought it was Run/mscom but I’ve just
done that to no avail. I think I have a lot of stuff starting up that I don’t
need. Can someone remind me how to go there with Win7 please.

Many thanks Roger
