Dear Catherine,
I would use NVDA portable version on a USB stick which you can download from
the
www.nvda-project.org/
site. Follow the download links.

Jaws and others have to insert a "off-screen module"into the other person's
computer which I don't like. NVDA does not use this method of intercepting
the screen information and therefore is not quite as powerful as Jaws, but
it is still adequate for most ordinary use.
Removing this module is messy.
Regards
Aedan

Thanks all for the replies. Ron - you asked whether I could use the
JAWS demo from the website. Did you mean a JAWS demo can be run just
by being online and not installing anything? Last time I looked JAWS
had to be installed but I wondered if things had changed. The issue
is I can't install anything onto the person's computer.
