Hi Carol, I'll tell you a story about that. I am teaching online shopping with JFW at North Herts College. We used the Tesco main site, and I logged in at college, and we added sample products to the basket to show the students. When I got home, everything was in the basket, so even though I did it on a different computer, they were still there. So on the main site, it certainly saves your basket, and then some. Well, that little button thing Steve is quite clever! I'm still wondering whether the basket contents is safe. I suspect if you start shopping on the main site with an empty basket then things are OK. I sure hope so. -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Nutt Sent: Sunday, April 03, 2005 9:37 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TESCO AGAIN! Hi Carol, I once heard I think it was on an In Touch programme, but it may not have been, that Tesco said that they wanted to make their site accessible to everyone, rather than maintain two sites. If that's the case, I infer that it is going. I will also say that the main site has improved a lot, since I started using it, in that you can now just click a button, if you only want to add one of an item to the basket, and you land on the same page, so if for example, you want to addd sugar, which is in your favourites, and you find it, you have two buttons, a dash button, and a plus button, so if you want to add one or remove one, you don't have to even type the quantity, just press enter on the button. FYI, JAWS calls these a clickable dash, and a clickable plus. When you hit these buttons, if you go back up, you will see the words "1 in basket", or something like that, by the product, so you do know that it is in the basket, without viewing the basket. Hi Carol, Yes, I agree. The answer is forget the access site, since it is going to go anyway, as far as I know. All the best -- Computer Room Services: the long cane for blind computer users. The same is true though, Steve, if you fill your basket from the Access site you don't see it on the main one - except for an empty basket. I know. I did it this week and checked it out twice! <SIGH> -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Nutt Sent: Saturday, April 02, 2005 11:32 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: TESCO AGAIN! Hi Carol, No comfort, I know, but I just added an item to the basket on the access site, and sure enough, it is not there on the main site. Another reason to persevere with the main site methinks. Hi all, Being determined to persevere with the main site and try to get more familiar, as fast as Steve with the shopping and all: I've just logged into it and discovered (on two occasions) that my basket is empty. Between these two occasions I went back to the Access site to check my basket, knowing I'd spent time and energy filling it earlier, and sure enough, everything was still intact! Well, it seems, at any rate, that even if our Log-in is accepted, our baskets for each site are stored in different locations . . .. This probably confirms all that others have recently written. Now, without doing a full shop on the normal site, I can't see how I can really get better with it! I'll leave that for another day! -- Carol carol.pearson@xxxxxxxxxxxx -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
