Very strange the Sonus XT displaying Saga 's name for the Jazz, even if there
is some tie up
commercially.

I've just re-scanned for this station, Jazz being one of my most loved music
genres, and
find it is a mono 96Kbs stream. Well, better than nothing.

On the net it is a 128 kbs stream, I'd guess WMA format, and it sounds great.

The multiplex allocations are the reason why there aren't the number of
stations available in northern ireland.

Ah, sorry Peter I thought you where from here.

Yeah my girlfriend has Digital Radios and when you switch over to DAB from
FM or AM, the quality of the signals are pathetic even for the stations you
can pick up.

I didn't know the multiplexs allocations where responsible for this.

Ah well more fuel for the more geekier biggits? chuckle

youcan't get the jazz in northern Ireland. I have a friend over there and
he tells me that you are short changed when it comes to available channels
on dab. The reason being that certain multiplexes have been allocatedfor
use by the republic.----- Original Message -----

Peter.

What's your reception like?

I've always been told by people that it was rubbish over here.

For those that don't know over here is Northern Ireland.

I do listen to The Jazz sometimes and often hear repeats of tracks and wish
also there were presenters. Someone did say they will be having them from
Easter any idea whether this is true and also whether we will ever have
stereo broadcast on the DAB as well as Sky? It is so annoying, there are
too many channels broadcast via Sky but not on the DAB radio making me
wonder why I have one.

Like me, I wonder if there are many on this list who are enjoying the music
on The Jazz DAB radio station which started on Christmas day.
