Subject: [access-uk] Tip: enable file delete confirmation in windows 10
Hello Everyone.
Recently, we have had issues with clients where people are pressing
delete on files and icons accidentally. In windows7 and earlier, windows
would prompt you if you wanted to delete a file. However in windows 8
and 10, people are no longer prompted for a confirmation. This has been
very annoying especially for visually impaired users, as you have no way
of knowing where or if a file or desktop icon has gone until you go
looking for it. Here's the solution.
1. Go to your desktop with windows D.
2. Find the recycle bin icon and press alt enter on it to go in to
properties.
3. Tab to the last checkbox on the page that says display delete
confirmation and tick it. Tab to OK and press enter.
Restart your computer and the old behaviour should return.
Thanks for reading,
Mo.
