Thanks Dave both for contacting them and passing on their response. I think
there also needs to be more clarity and user control over the presence of
announcements when you select a particular stop. As I understand it at present,
all announcements about all buses using the stop are just spewed out. One stop
I use is on the routes of six different services and I’d like to just access
information on the bus number I’m waiting for.

Hi list

Recently there was a little discussion regarding the Next Buses app being
upgraded and its name being changed to TravelLine UK but that the changes
required one to look at a map. I wrote to the developers about it being
inaccessible now after the changes and there is some hope ahead based on the
email response below. I hope this is still of interest to some members of the
group and that these changes do materialise as I for one made a lot of use of
NextBuses.

All the best from Dave

Dave

Many thanks for taking the time to clarify the issue here. Based on your
feedback, we're working on fixes for the next update to the app. We hope to
include:

- An option to allow the app to open in list view by default.
- The app will refresh the list view without you having to go to the map view.

I really appreciate you taking the time to let us know about these issues.

Best wishes

Carl

Hi Carl

I'm unable to use the app currently as when I choose buses I then choose List
in the hope that a list of nearby bus stops comes up. They don't as it declares
no bus stoss, use map to locate these. Hence my problem is that the map is
visual and hence I'm unable to locate anything having no vision. If in allowing
the app to determine where I am based at home I would expect, as was the case
with the up before the changes, to hear a list of bus stops near to my current
position whether I'm at home or in Cambridge for example. I could then select
the appropriate bus stop from the list which is the one from which the bus or
buses I may require to take me to one or maybe another destination.

With thanks from David

Dear Dave

Many thanks for agreeing to let us contact you regarding the Traveline App and
your recent usability issues. My name is Carl Partridge, I'm the lead
developer here at FatAttitude. We develop and publish the app on behalf of
Traveline.

I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced problems. We're keen to do
everything we can to help accessibility users navigate through the app. To
that end, I'd be grateful if you could assist us by answering the following
questions:

1. What difficulties are you experiencing when using the app with VoiceOver?
If you could explain the location of any particular buttons or text that is
causing you confusion, that would be great.
2. Do you have any additional suggestions as to how we might make the app more
accessible for you?

This new app is more complex than the previous NextBuses app, so your help and
feedback is very much appreciated in assisting us with this.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch if I can be of any further help or
assistance.

Kind regards,

Carl
