it for a while in favour of Tweetings.

yes Jackie in the settings of tweeting turn off streaming then you can manually 
refresh with a three finger swipe down as and when you want to!
I’d also say though that twitterific is a fabulous little twitter client.
I’ve used tweetings until recently however the focus jumping on refresh isn’t 
as much as an issue with twitterific and in some respects its more flexible.
I’ve not tried the twitter app for some time mainly because the two above 
mentioned clients have always done a better job for me!
