Hi Vanja. In the past, I've had terrible problems, as many list members have had, in getting rid of Norton. However, on my new VISTA computer on boot up a dialogue box appears and is prompting me to sign up. I did an alt F4, then removed it from my system and although it's only been an hour or so, I've not seen it since. So perhaps in VISTA it's easier to get rid of something you don't want.
Best wishes. Andy.----- Original Message ----- From: "Vanja Sudar" <vanja@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Doesn't that Norton removal utility have one of those dreaded visual verifications? I'm sure last time I tried to use it on another computer, although it was a while ago, it definitely had it.Vanja http://www.sudar.co.uk http://mashupradio.net MSN/windows live messenger: sudar23@xxxxxxxxxxx AIM: vanja121 Skype: vanja121----- Original Message ----- From: "Steve Nutt" <steve@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2008 10:34 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Uninstalling NortonHi Jackie,There is a Norton Removal utility, if you want to completely be rid of it. I think he found it in the Programs menu, and clicked on Uninstall. There are doubtless traces of it in my registry, but it ain'tworking now, so good riddance!! I hope that helps get you sorted. I've just purchased a new VISTA computer and it has Norton on it. I've not yet registered or activated it. It pops up at the start.I've been using NOD 32 for almost a year and I was thinking of continuingmy subscription. If I wish to stick with NOD 32, then I may have to uninstall Norton. I'ma bit concerned about doing this however, just in case I muck up my system.Has anyone recently uninstalled Norton from a VISTA system and could giveme some advise. If it's too problematic, then I may well just have to stick with Norton. Best wishes.
