Mel - did you try changing the throttles for downloads in WinMX? Simon's the
expert of course, on this topic!

Subject: [access-uk] Uninstalling WinMX

Hi All,

I've finally had enough of WinMX and have decided it has to go! However,
I'm having problems uninstalling it. I am using Windows XP Home and there
is no uninstall option from within the program or on the programs menu.
Also, it is not appearing in the Add/Remove programs section of XP.

Can anyone recommend a better file sharing program? I have reverted to
Kazaa Lite, simply because it doesn't use up all my band width as WinMX
does, and downloads most files at around 17 kb per second which is what I
would expect with my connection speed. WinMX was downloading at 0.3 kb
per second regularly.
