Greetings,

I am running Jaws v5.1 on both my Win98SE desktop and WinME laptop =
machines,
I am running MicroSoft Office 2000 Professional on both machines. So far=
 as
I know, the setup in all respects is identical - I use the laptop as if =
it
were a desktop, I hate laptop configurations.

I have tried running Jaws v4.5 on the laptop and get exactly the same
results when in a Word document, or even if Word is open and no document.

Whenever on the laptop I enter Word in whatever guise, I keep getting =
part
of the status line read to me, this also happens when I am in a document
working or reading, especially when we come across a line which is not =
full.
I get something like this:

rec trk ext over

least that's what it sounds like.

On the desktop, this does not happen at all.

I suspect that this is something which has changed in Word rather than a
Jaws matter, so please can anybody suggest what may have changed and =
needs
to be reset? Do I need to reinstall my Office 2000 pro? =20

Thanks for any help.
