Good evening all.
I'm sorry for the urgent in the subject line, but Please can I have your help?
Recently I had to change the password to connect to my wifi. So
tonight I tried to connect to my wifi using the new password. Before I
did this, I told my iPhone 3GS running iOS 5.1.1 to forget the network
I was connected to, as it was set up with the old password.
Anyway, I go into settings, wifi, select my Virginbroadband wifi
network, but here is where I think the problem is. No matter how many
characters I enter, the join button is dimmed. However, if I go into
an app, it alerts me to select a wifi network to connect to, and I can
attempt to join it fine. On both occasions it says, "alert! unable to
join network".
Now, I understand the second issue, because I have told it to ask me
to join wifi networks. This is because I tried to reset my network
settings to see if that would help, but it didn't.
Now, I am going to see my friend Christopher Hallsworth over the
weekend. Apparently he has been able to connect to his Sky87127 wifi
network absolutely fine, from day 1, on his iPhone 4 running the above
iOS version.
I am thinking of contacting my internet service provider Virgin Media
either tomorrow or next week, to see if they can help. But for now, if
you have any ideas, please share, because I am afraid I may have to
take my second iPhone 3GS back to Apple due to a fault. grrrrr! Lol!
Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Hannah Day
