No it isn't sadly. Neither are the LG phones because their operating platform is different. i always become confused about all those letters and what they stand for. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doris and Chris" <chipmunks@xxxxxxx>

Is the "Haven" phone available in the U.K.? This is a phone that talks out of the box and has distinguishable keys.also, several of the LG hones talk out of the box though their speech access is not as complete as a phone running talks.hth Doris At 12:43 PM 7/18/2012 +0000, you wrote:I concur with Jackie. Internet and e-mail access will be via your service provider as it does not have wi-fi capability. If you can get a C5 without Talks and have a contract with Vodafone then they will put Talks on free of charge.-----Original message----- From: Jackie Cairns Sent: 18/07/2012, 1:08 pm To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Very simple talking mobile phone needed Hi Niamh Welcome to the list. Between us, we try to help one another and have interesting views on assistive technology. I would recommend the Nokia C5 to you, which will run the Talks software. If you haven't come across Talks, where have you been? (smile). It is a mini screen reader that allows you to use your phone as a sighted person would. The RNIB sell the C5 with Talks, but you might also like to try www.comproom.co.uk or www.creativeeyes.co.uk I hope that puts you in the right direction. You will be pushed to find a handset with good buttons on it now unfortunately. I want to text and make calls, nothing more complex. 4. I would ideally like it to work in Ireland and France as I visit quite often.Simplicity is my greatest need I would love to be able to either walk intoa mobile phone store or order on line and for it to work out of the box. All suggestions welcome, I am getting desperate?
