Hi James

I kind of thought that a serious hacker would not be put off by a WEP key. Also, surely to access files I would have to have had a network set up rather than just using the router for an Internet connection? I don't think I would seriously consider going down the unprotected route, I just wanted to try and see if it was the WEP keys my phone was having a problem with. On the other hand, if my phone won't connect via my wireless network, I can't see a way around it as I really can't figure out what the problem is.

Hi Barbara,

Without a WEP key: They'll be able to access any shared files, see the devices on your network, and although you seem to take the accessing of your internet connection very lightly, who knows what trouble you could get into if someone came along and started downloading copyrighted content, performing DoS attacks using your connection, etc. But, on the other hand, anyone who wanted to do that could crack your WEP key in 2 minutes anyways.
