Hi Steve

Baseband version i9250 xx la2

I've been googling like mad to try and find others with the same problem, but
had no luck. I assumed there must be different versions of the samsung galaxy
nexus but didn't know what determined that.

It was bought as a SIMM free phone and I've tried my vodafone SIMM in it and
still no luck. As it's a SIMM free phone I didn't think it would make any
difference trying with the SIMM and have mainly been trying on Wi fi. I know
there is nothing wrong with the phone, but keep wondering why I'm not being
offered the update.
Anyhow I'll see what you come up with.

thanks

Darren.

  Hi Darren,

All you can do is keep trying the steps or wait for the update to push. If
it is a Sim-free phone, then I would have expected you to have it by now. Can
you give me one piece of information? Go into Settings, About Phone, and look
down the screen for the Baseband version. Please tell me what that is, and
I'll take a look. If it's a European phone, it may not be pushed yet. But
give me the baseband and I'll try to find out.

  Thanks.

  All the best

  Steve

  Hi Steve

I tried your suggestions and enabling web scripts works a treat. However
Jellybean still refuses to come through and my phone still thinks it's up to
date?

It's a bit of a mystery as to why it isn't updating. I'm on vodafone and
bought the nexus from Amazon. Guess I will have to be patient and see what
happens, unless you have any more suggestions?

  Darren.

    Hi Steve

As usual you are a fountain of knowledge.

I've got some more podcasts to listen to, including 'our place' so will see
what other little gems I can gleam from them.

    Thanks a lot

    Darren.

      Hi Darren,

Please do the following with your Nexus.

      1. Go into Settings, Apps.

      2. Click on the All tab. You have Running, Downloaded and All.

      3. Look for Google Services Framework and click on it.

      4. Click Clear Data. Not clear Cache, Clear Data.

      5. When prompted, select OK to are you sure you want to clear the
data.

      6. Now go back into About Phone, System Updates and check for
update.

      You will probably get Jellybean.

      Now for your web problem.

This works with Ice Cream Sandwich as well.

      1. Go into Settings, Accessibility.

      2. Right down the bottom you will find Web Scripts. In Jellybean
it is called Web Content, and it will say Not Allowed. Click on it, and it
will ask are you sure? Select OK, so that web scripts or content are allowed.

Now the web will be accessible.

      All the best

      Subject: [access-uk] Where's my Jellybean?

      Hi list

I received a Galaxy Nexus on Friday and have been playing around with it
on and off since then. It arrived with version 4.02 of the operating system and
after connecting to my wi fi it informed me that a new update was available. As
Steve Nut has remarked it's very easy you just click on install and wait for
the phone to reboot and it's installed. So now I have version 4.04 (Ice cream
sandwich) However I know there is another update, but when I checked in
settings / about and did a check for updates it informed me that I have the
latest version. So where is Jellybean? Do I just have to be patient and it will
eventually come through? I know the Nexus doesn't require a custom ROM. Does
anyone else on here have a Nexus which has updated to Jellybean and did you
have to wait a while for it?

      A few other queries.

I turned off the vibration feedback in the talkback settings as I don't
find it necessary. However when the phone gets turned off and back on the
vibration feedback returns. Is there a way of permantly disabling this feature.

I am currently just using talkback as my screen reader. However the
browser is completely inaccessible and does not speak anything on a webpage. Do
I need to install mobile accessibility in order to read web pages? Will
Jellybean allow webpages to be accessible using talkback?

      Many thanks

      Darren.
