Hi Simon

Searching for the letter I does not return any results, it just sits there
saying waiting for results. Do you have any other ideas. I have checked to
make sure that my windows firewall is not blocking it but it doesn't appear to
be. win mx is in the exceptions list and is checked Cheers!

  hi graham, try searching for the letter i.
  it may be that what you are searching is not available on there yet, by
searching for the letter i, you can see if any results are returned.
  i have sent you the tutorial that i wrote for winMX off list, most questions
are addressed in there.

      create a new notepad document in your WinMX root directory (e.g.;
C:/PROGRAM
      FILES/WINMX)
      and write this code in it:
      [winmx]
      ServerBindTcpPorts=6699
      KillOldSession=1
      Persistent=1
      Then, save that as "wspcfg.ini" and run WinMX normally. This should sort
you out.

        Hi Graham,

        Sounds like your firewall is not allowing WINMX to use its ports. I
can't
        remember what they are, but look in WINMX help, and you need to tell
the Win
        XP firewall to open those ports.

        All the best

        Hi all

        When I try and make a primary connection to my broadband with win mx I
am
        getting the following error message

        No TCP port for incoming connections
        no upp port for incoming or outgoing packets.

        It will only let me make a secondary connection which is meant for dial
up
        users. I am using win xp home with the sp 2 firewall and a netgear
hardware
        router for my broadband. If anyone can shed some light on this one
I'd be
        grateful.  Cheers!
