Wondered after I'd sent the last message if maybe the caps lock key was
implicitly being
refered to regarding lap top layout. No, at the moment Window-Eyes doesn't
support the use
of the caps lock as part of a hot key combo. I think Gw may have this in their
sights for
the next release, or I hope they have. They've always said though this is
going to
necessitate a W-E keyboard driver for this to be possible, and they've said
this could
impact on stability - a thing they are very committed to with W-E.

I think though the more people mention their wish for caps lock hot key
functionality the
more likely GW are to incorporate it. They do listen, even if suggestions do
sometimes take
some while to get implimented.

I'd say a little forethought in planning a coherent and logical layout is
necessary before
diving right in. I've no particular thoughts on a desirable lap top layout as
I don't have
a lap top. I can't abide the things!

Does it give you the ability to use caps lock though? That is really helpful
with laptop layouts. I think it's just a fiddly process changing all the
keys you want to change, but thinking about it, I bet it would only take a
few minutes to create a layout for every possible keystroke, not even just
the ones asigned by default!
