Hi Chris,
Wordweb is more a dictionary, I don't think that's the answer. I think what would help more is a thesaurus, where she can type in the word she is thinking of writing and get back words that mean the same so she can see if that's the best word to put in, but really don't know where she can get one. There is also a program which, when you're reading a Word document, if you come across a word you don't understand, you press a key and it brings up a definition. I don't know who distributes it in the UK, or if it's a program sold by an adaptive technology company, or just a commercial program he got, but you can ask Dirk at
www.screenspeak.co.za
But, on the whole, I think finding a free online thesaurus would help.
If she's struggles, like me, to express her ideas using propper wording, she should maybe also take a few creative writing courses on how to structure essays, that really helped me a lot.

Subject: [access-uk] Word finding difficulties

Hi all,
Does anyone know of any accessible software, preferably free or fairly cheap
at least, that can aid people with this problem? My friend had to do
something in class today, and, although she had an idea of what to put, she
finds it difficult to put her ideas into writing. Would something like
WordWeb help with this? Thanks in advance for the help. P.S. She uses JAWS
8, and has Windows XP Home SP2, if that helps.
