Welcome to the newly moved access-uk list. NOTE: Leaving instructions, etc.,
are at the very end of this message.

Hi Listers

I am about to purchase a new PC with a 3GHz Processor and 1GB of RAM and
running Windows XP. I will be using Dolphin's HAL v6.01 as my Screen Reader.

Unless I specify otherwise the OS will be XP Home. My main applications will
be Microsoft Office Professional and E-Mail using a Dial Up Network
initially but moving to Broadband (ADSL) in a few months time. The PC will
be used at Home and I do not foresee having it networked with any other
machine in the foreseeable future.

In the circumstances just described, would there be any benefit (and if so
what?) in my paying the extra for XP Pro?

Any Advice welcomed

Best Wishes

Bi from Keith Rothwell
