Hi Peter,

I don't know where you got the idea that you will have driver problems
with XP Home.

Frankly, I'd be more worried about getting the Toshiba set up under XP
Home as it would have been under XP Pro. I know I went through pure
hell when I had to install the regular XP Home my Toshiba Satellite.

In fairness, the Toshiba web site was very good, but it was the sheer
number of different things that had to be installed, from Toshiba's own
battery and power management (very important) to video and all sorts.

I don't normally advocate XP Professional for single workstation private
use, but in this case, it might just pay to bight the bullet and go for
JAWS Professional.

Subject: [access-uk] XP home and Pro Need to know

Hi guys. I'm having a laptop shipped to me today. Thing is, I'm told it
comes with XP Pro. But I don't have Jaws Pro. The store can load XP Home
and give me the appropriate XP Home disks. The problem might be that
some media drivers might not work. Now, what to do? Should I pay the
extra for Jaws Pro, or take a chance on loading XP home and risk the
loss of some media drivers. This Toshiba laptop comes with a TV tuner,
even has a remote control, so I can plug in the cable and watch TV. This
option and others may not work if XP home is loaded. Any suggestions?

Peter
