When you hear the noise indicating that your popup blocker has blocked the
popup, press alt+n and then the applications key. Then hit the option to
install the active x control.

Subject: [access-uk] ZoomText: "check for updates" problem

Hi there,

I'm wanting to update ZoomText.

Under: Programs / Zoomtext I clicked on the 'check for updates' option and
have been taken to an internet popup page that will eventually lead me to
finding the correct update version I need. It's called InstallShield Update
Service. It looks rather cool but unfortunately it tells me that I don't
have Active-X controls enabled in my browser and hence can't use it.

The 'Show Updates' button is unavailable as a result.

It tells me to check my security settings but I've tried lots of different
options now and can't work out which things to enable and disable for this
service.

Can anyone tell me how to get this updating service working? Is this a known

issue or do I have to do something with Active-X on my PC?

Or maybe there's another way of updating ZoomText?

Like jaws, is there a way of finding out which authorisation numbers are
able to receive updates?

Any help much appreciated. I'm a bit new to this ZoomText lark.
