Hi List Have just setup a new computer for a friend. It's a windows 7 home premium 64 bit system, with 4 gig of RAM. have installed jaws 13 and Zoomtext 10 and they are both up to date. Both set to start when the computer starts. The zoomtext splash screen comes up, during which time Jaws kicks in. Then a message comes up to say that zoomtext has detected jaws and needs to load first. Then it closes. So I have to unload jaws. Start zoomtext, then start jaws again. I have never had this happen before and am just wondering if it's a strange quirk of the 64 bit OS.? I've disabled jaws starting when the computer starts so just zoomtext starts now then I manually run jaws which works fine. It's no real big deal having to start Jaws manually, but I would be interested to know if anyone has had this problem and found a way to tweak the start-up timings so that jaws will load itself after zoomtext. On my own 32 bit system the zoomtext splash screen comes up and then goes away. Then jaws kicks in and all is well, which is why I'm wondering if it's something to do with being a 64 bit OS. It's interesting that you need to install a 64 bit version of jaws, but zoomtext has only one version to download. The other thing that bugs me a little is that Zoomtext 9 used to load quite quickly. However Zoomtext 10 seems to take twice as long. Nothing you can do about that, but it would be nice not to have a splash screen coming up. Guess that would require a registry tweak? Cheers Darren.
