Hi David

Can't remember which way round but plus and minus discs for DVD and CD are by 2 developers. Phillips and Sony. Just as once was the VHS and Betamax systems in Video tapes and machines. A great number of DVD recorders are able to accept both plus and minus but some will only take one or the other.

Rewritable are as they say discs you are able to use more than once. I have them but have never used them as I have been warned of a sharp fall off of quality the more they are used. But if you do which to use them I would suggest the better the quality the better the likelihood of better performance. Verbatim, Toshiba and Maxtell come readily to mind.

This is not really access technology, but a quick answer would be most
welcome, then I will go away.

I have just purchased a dvd recorder which can handle all formats. can
someone please explain the difference between dvd plus and dvd minus, and
which rewriteable dvd disks I should use? Any help would be much
appreciated.

David
