Thanks for this Doris, I did play with Theophilus a year or two ago and
the interface wasn't that great but then again it was several versions
of Jaws ago!! It is the search and cross-reference features I'm after
so will explore this some more and perhaps contact you off list or via
another list if I have more questions.

Thanks again though,

Cheers,

Phil

Actually, there is a commercial version of theophilos that does include
the NIV and I believe that you can also buy and unlock code for the NIV
under the Online bible OInterface. Bibleseeker is freeware and only
contains public domain versions of the bible.

Of the other two, I much prefer Theophilos for its interface but the
more affordable solution to get the NNIV text would be with the online
bible interface, I believe. I would recommend downloading the freeware
versions of both packages and trying which one you like better.
Also, if you just want the text, the International Bible Society offers
the revised version of the NIV, called "Today's New International
version", I believe, for free download in pdf.

Lastly, I think there is a Bible Courier version of the NIV though I am
not sure if they ever resolved the copyright issue of selling the NIV
outside North America.

Cheers,

Doris
