Seems to me not all Android phones are created equal as far as accessibility is concerned. It is going to help a lot that Android version 4 is gradually finding its way on to more phones, and Android 4 has more readily available accessibility functions than older versions of Android. Older versions can be made more accessible, but it may take some sighted help to achieve this. The Google Nexus phone is available now with Android 4 installed, and the Sony Xperia Pro soon will be. These are phones that are mentioned a lot among blind people using Android. Sometimes manufacturers put their own applications on to phones that break the accessibility. I've seen comments about this regarding HTC and some Samsung phones in particular.
