I'm going to have a stab at why F Prot hardly gets a mention.
Because essentially Norton and McaFee have become household names.
But like Hotpoint they're not always the best choice.

I couldn't agree with you more. F-Prot is the best anti-virus package I have tried personally, and seems to place the least impact on any system's overall performance. AVG is annoying me now, because of its stupid attachments, which you have to turn off, and its blatant advertising, and telling other people that their sig files are out of date in Emails. I think AVG is now horrible, in all flavours.

I use kapersky personal but not pro. I pay twenty quid a year and update on a daily pases and find the product pretty good.
