Hi Carol,
I have walked around this village with Ginny going to
folk that we know using the Kapten and have so far found
it very good. Also I went out with my con-guide by car to
hemel hempstead old town and found the high street. The
only problem that I have found is the software which I
can not access with JAWS. The voice commands have been
very good, and one of the things that I like about the
Kapten is that at any time one can aske it {where am I}
and it will tell you.

Kapten (please note spelling), is a GPS system sold by
Cobolt Systems. It was primarily designed for
motor-cyclists, but because of its speech recognition
and no display, it was felt there would be a market for
it in the visual impairment community. Alas, it isn't
as good as it's cracked up to be though, but that's only
my
opinion, others may like it.
