Hi all

I thought you might be interested in my experience with trying to use the
members forums with TalkTalk. Within the TalkTalk members section of the
website, there is a members forum section, however, to join it you have to
set up an account. Usual stuff, date of birth, email address, user name,
password, you know the kind of thing. However, there was a capture I
couldn't get around. I went through the normal channels via the contact us
form on the website, and sent their customer services an email explaining
why I couldn't join the forums because of the capture problem and, that
screenreaders cannot access them but I might try and get around the problem
somehow. I received a reply from them letting me know that they have taken
the capture out of the sign up process, and sure enough, I went up to the
forums area again and this time I managed to join. This part of the site is
in beta at the moment, so thought it worthwhile to complain about it.

Here is a small portion of the email I received about this and I quote
"Please note that if we have issues with automatic registrations as a
result, before we can develop and install
alternative security measures, we may need to re-introduce the system
unfortunately. "

If anyone with a TalkTalk account wants to go up and join the forums, even
if you only want to just follow the topics and read stuff, then I would
suggest signing up right now in case the capture is put back in again.

I have to say though, that TalkTalk have responded positively to me and are
obviously aware of the capture issue with screenreaders. Just one case
where a company responds positively I would suggest when this issue was
brought to their attention, and I have informed customer services that I
would let a couple of the lists I belong to know about their very helpful
attitude concerning the capture issue. Apologies if any of you see this
message twice.
