Hello Everyone.

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I had a rather interesting situation the other day that i couldn't provide a solution for. this person has written a utility that they're considering possibly selling. however, what's confusing both of us is the shareware licensing scheme. in a nut shell, how do you go about selling software? do you have to be a registered business? or can individuals sell the software they write? there would be no point applying for a patent as you can't patent software and that's overkill to say the least. but i'm wondering if they shouldn't just try and license it as shareware?

if anyone on here knows anything about software distribution or has soled software themselves, could you please drop me a note off list? i'd be very greatful for any information you can provide. i know individuals in the VI software community have soled software, a good example is chicken nugget and azabat games to mention but a few.

is my off list email.

many thanks in advance,

Mo.
