Where did you hear the latest, which is V5.67 would not be suitable?
GoldWave is about $50 or thereabouts for a lifetime licence.
I am still on XP Home and V5.67 works fine for me.
The learning curve is not steep, some of the commands are windows, such as
copy, paste, delete, Etc., the keyboard is easily customizeable.
By all means contact me privately if you want more help and advice, I've
been using GW since Windows98 days, over some six or so years.
