Greetings, Is it possible by putting the plug partly into a socket as I used to do in the old days with a normal tranny, one can get the signal into the speaker rather than going through the set's amplifier? I have not tried this but certainly remember when I had an HMV2148 if I plugged a feed from the headphone socket of an external device into the headphone socket but not push it right in, if the set was switched off, I could use the speaker of the HMV2148 as an external speaker of, say in those days, of my Philips EL3301 cassette portable. Yes, those days are long gone now eh! I am talking in terms of the mid to late sixties! Both machines died in the early seventies and not because I used them in the above manner but simply being warn out.
