Hi Andy,

Just something else I have thought of after reading the message. Where exactly
in the back of the machine did you put the cable into? Was it a plug on the
back of the motherboard, or another add-on card, or was it your dialup modem
you tried to plug the cable into?

It should go into an ethernet socket either located on the motherboard or in an
add-on card, but it is not the dialup modem.

Andrew.

Hi Andrew.

It's a Bellcan 812 - cannot get to the correct spelling The shop fitted the
internal wireless modem into Pauline's computer upstairs, and the Router is
sitting downstairs beside my computer, which is connected via quite a large
telephone plug into the back of my computer.

My wife's computer is working fine and she is able to go on line, but I
cannot.

The paperwork - if Pauline is reading it correctly, is telling her to
install the CD. She may of course be getting mixed up with her computers
card installation, but surely, I'd need an icon to click on to go on-line,
or would I still use the Freeserve Speed-Toouch icon?

I'm able to go on-line at the moment, because I've fitted my old Freeserve
modem again.

Any of this help Andrew?

Best wishes.

Andy
