Hi,

Many netbooks also come with a hidden restore partition that has the setup files for a reinstall aka reset to factory defaults. This should be documented in your netbook's manual.

if your installation media came on cd/dvd but if your netbook does not have an optical drive, you can use a free utility from

http://wintoflash.com/home/en/

to transfer your install media to a usb flash drive and install from there.

Google for an unattended installation creator so that you do not need speech during install.

You have a toybox now with your netbook and can't make anything worse by attempting a reinstall. At best, you'll save money for repair and/or new hardware and at worse, you have not lost anything but learned something about unattended installation or how to restore your netbook to factory defaults. *smile* Have fun and bon chance!

Cheers,

Doris

Are you sure the cause of your netbook's failure is hardware related and not just a software or driver issue? the Latter often is caused by corrupted drivers or something similar that can be fixed by a reinstall of the operating system.

Just wondering.
