Hi my name is Mick and I am 51 and have been totally blind since 1972. For the
last 2 years I have been doing a advanced computer course at my local college
in Loughborough, England and just wanted to pass on how I feel at this moment.
Last Friday I was presented with my pass certificate with a double grade of C
which is the third highest grade. I was also presented with the student of the
year award which was totally unexpected.

My children are as proud of me as I am for achieving all I have.

I have only been into computers since 2000 and so am still fairly new to it.
The main reason I am telling you all this is to say that even when you think
that things might be a bit to hard for you to tackle, believe in yourself and
with a lot of hard work you never know what you can achieve.

One of my highest grades was a top A which beat 20 of the 19-20 year old
sighted students in my class, which from what my tutors told me was one of the
best. So it just goes to show just because we are blind or visually impaired
we can do as good as the sighted world in many things.

I hope this will encourage others to try and stress their minds.

All the best.
