Hi Steve.

I've just got one as well *smile*. I have Samsung machines which both have 3 ports, but I was aware of this issue. I have a slot loading drive which is the same in point of fact, it has two USB connections one for power and one for data however the data connection can provide power as well. Depending on how much power your netbook is capable of providing to the USB connection, you may not even need to use the additional power USB port, but thanks all the same for letting me know, it was thoughtful of you to point this out.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Ibrahim,

I just ordered the CNM drive, but there is one thing you should be aware of.
It requires two USB ports not one. I believe this is so it can suck the
extra power it needs.

So if you have only two USB ports on your PC, it may not be an ideal
solution if for example, you want to use a key at the same time. My netbook
has three ports, so this doesn't bother me, but it is unusual for a USB
device to require two ports. Check out the specs though and you will see it
does say that on Play.

All the best

Steve

Hi Adrian.

Firstly, the CNM drive will write cd and cdrw disks at 24X. I guess they're

plugging this as a dvd rewriter, but all dvd rewriter drives will also write

cds as well so you've nothing to fear there. I used to recommend Lite on
products, however since they are more expensive now than they used to be for

some reason I've stopped recommending them. I've always believed that when
I make recommendations to people, I look not only at features and
specification but also price point considering the competition.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi

Yes I am actually looking at that one but it doesn't say
whether it's just dvd or cd. Unless you know what all the
terminology means, you are not sure what you are looking at.

Have you heard of the lite on make, play.com sell quite a
few of them.

Adrien
