Hi Jim
thanks for reminding me about how to turn the volume back up. This had happend
to me a long time ago but i didn't remember about it. So thanks for saving me
a long journey to the apple shop.

Hi Linda,
Two things I can think of is that the volume is turned down. Try this:
1 on the opening screen swipe down with two fingers and once you have done
that, start pressing the up volume on the side of the phone and see if the
speech starts to read.
2 Also, have you muted your phone, on the side of the phone in-between the up
and down volume is a switch, move it to the (can’t remember if left or right)
but it will move and if muted the speech should start to work again.

Subject: [access-uk] swipeing reads no text
Using iphone 4s. I was using knfb and as it wasn't reading the text that I
had taken a picture of, just kept returning to the opening pageand when i swipe
to see what is on the screen nothing is read out. I have checked that both
speech and voice over are both turned onand have done a reset but still nothing
is read out if I swipe. If i get a text message it isn't announced but if I
ask siri to read my new message he will read it. Anyone got any suggestions on
what might be the problem please.
Thanks Linda
