Brian, Wow that's amazing. Can you describe in a bit more detail what your doing? Have you made any changes to the settings? Roughly where on the screen do you need to pass the bar code? Do you move the IPhone over the product or the product over the IPhone? Once you have scanned the bar code correctly what happens?

I went nextdoor and asked my neighbour to tell me where the bar code was and have been moving that part of a jar of Lemon Kird over the IPhone with no success.
Thanks
Yusuf

Hi Everyone,

I've been playing with this app this afternoon, and whilst I appreciate that the bar codes can be pretty much anywhere on the package, the app does find them if you systematically move the phone over the product at a distance of about 6 inches. Although I have some sight, I can't see enough to find the barcode on the phone screen, so I just work my way around until it makes the
pop to say it has found the bar code. I've tried at various distances and
six inches seems to be pretty optimum. It doesn't matter which way up the
barcode is.

John,

Having the same problem as you. I hope it gets sorted. The RNIB shouldn't
put the info out that it is accessible for blind people when it clearly
isn't.

Hi all I have tried the can I eat it app without any success.
as a totally blind person I do not really know where the bar code is on a
can or Cerial though. I will get someone hear who can see to try it again.
the app only cost £1.79. I never seem to be able to get these things to
work.
wonder if anyone else has had any joy.
cheers.
