Hi Ed
We will just have to wait and see what materialises, but I am not hopeful that
a piece of kit for over four grand with older technology is the answer. I
realise that as soon as something is built, it is out-of-date, but even so, you
don't want to be starting off with something like KitKat that you might not be
able to update. But who knows? (smile.)
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi Jackie,
I'm not sure what the BrailleNote Touch is using for a screen reader, but
according to the podcast, some third party apps will work, and the premise is
that first letter navigation will move you to any button/cctrol. This
doesn't sound like TalkBack to me so perhaps Humanware have written their own.
I don't know what happens when an unsupported app is encountered.
Cheers,
Ed

Hi Steve
The more I hear, the less I like it. You have KeySoft running on KitKat, so
what happens when you go into the Play Store and try to download an app that
is newer than KitKat, or any app, come to that, which goes outwith the
garden wall of KeySoft?
Kind Regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi,
Like I said, on an OS that's nearly two years old, that is not acceptable to
me at Braille display prices.
Mainstream for the win.
All the best

Hi John
My understanding is that Braille Touch runs on KitKat, so it's out-of-date
before it hits the proverbial shelf!

0was Hi John
0was
0was Yes it does sound interesting, but El Braille sounds even more up my
0was street because it is based on Windows 10, and has a detachable Braille
0was display. If this is all true and not just conflicting rumour, then it
0was has to be better than devices using Windows CE. The HumanWare Braille
0was Touch still uses its KeySoft suite of apps, so I am cautious about how
0was this device will work when you download third party stuff from the
0was Play
Store.0was
0was Let's see what happens.

0was hi all
0was
0was i have just heard the podcast from mystic access about the new release
0was of the bhl note touch device. this device is either an 18 or 32 cell
0was braille display on an android tablet using keysoft. touch bhl sounds
0was awesome and the product really does sound very very good indeed making
0was use of the touch braille and also using the tablet just like an
0was android tablet. the device is to be shipped around may so watch this
0was space. i think that humanware are on a winner with this product as you
0was can use the app or should i say play store. so you have access to the
0was google docx files skype and all the apps one can use on an android
tablet.
now i must win the lottery.0was ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:-
