If your toolbar is just regular adware and no mal- or spyware, you should be able to remove it by going into the "add/remove programs" applet in control panel in windows or better still, use something like "Revo Uninstaller" to get rid off your toolbars as Revo scans for leftover items after the toolbar's native uninstall.

as a rule, when installing programs, be very careful that no additional junk is installed. Always choose the 'custom install" option and be careful to review each screen with your screenreader's review cursor and not just by tabbing thru it. also, you can install many popular apps by going to

www.ninite.com

that will install these programs without toolbars and other adware they otherwise may come bundled with.

This said, while I consider myself a fairly proficient and careful computer user, I recently ended up with a toolbar without noticing and the toolbar was found only when troubleshooting an unrelated issue.
