A USB device will have to install for every port that you plug it into, that also includes those ports that hang off a hub of some kind. This is normal for USB hardware. Regards. For example, if I plug my toshiba flash drive in to it's normal port it works ok but if I plug it into a usb hub on the same hub it brings up the found new hardware program. I have just plugged in my mini usb mouse on a hub on my laptop and it brought up the found new hardware program and I switched it onto another port on the same hub and it brought up the found new hardware thing again, why is it doing this? Is there not a generic driver for all usb devices?
